DB Energy at EuroPOWER & OZE POWER 2024 – energy transformation
In April 2024, DB Energy joined the participants of the EuroPOWER & OZE POWER Conference – one of the most important debates on the future of energy transformation in Poland. Experts, decision-makers, and industry leaders came together to discuss challenges, strategies, and the role of innovation in building a sustainable energy sector.
DB Energy at EuroPOWER & OZE POWER 2024 Conference
On April 18–19, 2024, DB Energy took part in one of the key industry debates – the EuroPOWER & OZE POWER Conference. This was the 39th edition of the event devoted to energy and the 9th focused on renewable energy sources. This year's conference gathered a record number of participants – over 700 people – representing the public and private sectors, as well as expert and academic circles.
Among the speakers were Paulina Hennig-Kloska – Minister of Climate and Environment, Marzena Czarnecka – Minister of Industry, and Maciej Bando – Undersecretary of State and Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure.
Energy policy until 2040 – priorities and dilemmas
The conference opened with a discussion on Poland's energy policy until 2040. Key topics included the development of nuclear energy, modernization of heating systems, and emission reduction targets. Attention was drawn to the need to balance climate ambitions with infrastructural capabilities and the realities of energy-intensive industry.
Energy transformation and economic development
Special attention was paid to the synergy between energy transformation and the competitiveness of the Polish economy. Panelists emphasized the role of technological innovation, automation, and digitalization as tools supporting growth rather than limiting production. The topic of the implemented CSIRE system, which introduces new rules in the energy market, also sparked much discussion.
RES, SMRs, hydrogen and energy storage – the future energy mix
A large part of the conference focused on renewable energy sources and their role in the future mix. Discussions covered the potential of photovoltaic farms, offshore and onshore wind farms, as well as small modular reactors (SMRs), hydrogen technologies, and energy storage systems – crucial for grid flexibility. It was emphasized that without advanced balancing, the full potential of RES cannot be utilized.
Public-private cooperation and innovative financing
Topics related to financing the transformation were also addressed. Experts highlighted the need for stable legal frameworks, predictable support mechanisms, and better cooperation between the public sector and private investors – both in terms of CAPEX and ESCO.
Why do we participate in such events?
For DB Energy, participating in EuroPOWER & OZE POWER is not only an opportunity to follow the latest trends and regulations. It is primarily a chance to talk with market leaders, understand the sector's needs, and share experiences in implementing energy efficiency and zero-emission solutions in industry. Attending the conference also strengthens our mission to support companies in technical and strategic energy transformation – benefiting both the environment and competitiveness.
