DB Energy wins the Energy Transformation Leader 2025 award

Energy Transformation Leader 2025
On March 25, 2025, during the Energy Transformation Leaders Gala in Warsaw, DB Energy was honored with a prestigious award granted by the European Foundation for Sustainable Investments. This confirms that a comprehensive strategy including energy audits, consulting, financing, and the implementation of innovative decarbonization solutions is a key element of industrial transformation.
Breakthrough project for
Soufflet Polska malting plant
The awarded project carried out for one of the global leaders in malt production – Soufflet Polska Malting Plant in Poznań – is a model example of effective decarbonization. Thanks to the use of modern technologies, significant energy savings and CO2 emission reductions were achieved. Key solutions included:
- waste heat recovery and modernization of the heating system,
- installation of a heat pump supporting technological processes,
- implementation of cogeneration units covering almost the entire demand for electricity,
- construction of a new 4.2 MW cooling source.
Thanks to these innovations, savings of 30 GWh of thermal energy and 12 GWh of electricity per year were achieved, and CO2 emissions were reduced by 9,543 t, which corresponds to 40% of the plant’s total emissions.
ESCO financing model
– decarbonization that pays off
An exceptional aspect of the project is the use of the ESCO financing model, which allows the implementation of investments without engaging the company’s own funds:
- The total modernization cost amounted to PLN 29 million and was fully covered by DB Energy,
- Savings began generating financial benefits from the very first month, bringing a minimum of PLN 1.2 million net,
- DB Energy’s remuneration is based on the savings achieved (success fee model).
- Thanks to this solution, the client bore no financial risk while being able to dynamically modernize its industrial infrastructure.

We have signed an agreement with Żabka Polska Sp. z o.o. for the generation and sale of electricity from a photovoltaic installation
On 23 February 2026, we entered into an agreement with Żabka Polska Sp. z o.o. for the generation and sale of electricity from a photovoltaic (PV) installation located on the roof of Żabka’s logistics centre in Małopole. As part of the cooperation, we will deliver the investment and will be responsible for its operation, acting as the Operator of the installation.

Summary of 2025 at DB Energy
The year 2025 brought several interesting projects, new partnerships, and continued support for companies in achieving cost-effective decarbonisation. DB Energy has been operating since 2009. Since then, we have carried out over 1,500 energy efficiency audits and developed projects with a total value exceeding PLN 5.63 billion. Our activities have helped reduce energy consumption at our clients’ facilities by more than 9.8 TWh per year, resulting in annual savings of over PLN 2.2 billion. In 2025, we signed several key agreements, established new partnerships, published our industry report, and delivered many other important initiatives.
